My story
Never much concerned my self with the type of food I would eat, other than it being delicious, greasy, sweet, or salty. Grew up loving cereal, macaroni and cheese and anything that I can put country crock margarine all over. This lead me to become a obese 6th grader which continued into my 30’s. At which point it was discovered I was prediabetic with high blood pressure and hitting my heaviest at 356 Lbs. This was disheartening to say the least. My father who recently fell and broke his arm was in need of assistance and thankfully i was able to provide that for him. The reality hit me while helping this 69 year old man out, this is my future. With dead feet from diabetes and a list of 15 medications to control his blood pressure, Parkinson’s, cholesterol, diabetes, and additional meds just to tone down the side effects. I was terrified and (love you dad) disgusted. I didn’t want this for me.
